Polar Bear Sofa
The Polar Bear sofa has become ubiquitous in Jean Royère’s universe and interiors, right after he created the first model in 1946 for his Paris apartment. The permanent exhibition of the original model at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs confirms the iconic character of this piece, established among the icons of the 20th century design.
The sculptural and seamless line that flows through the curves is now emblematic of his biomorphic vocabulary.
