Flaque Étoile Coffee Table
Jean Royère presented the Flaque coffee table with its star-covered straw marquetry for the first time at the 1949 Salon des Artistes Décorateurs.
Covered with straw marquetry and coloured or tonal stars, the magic of the material is revealed as one moves around the piece, each star having its moment to shine as it catches the light. The sinuous top sitting on three cylindrical legs combines the graphic and luminous motif of the decorator with his singular biomorphic language.
